Uncle Dave’s Stealth Vacation – New York City: October 17th – 24th, 2011: Part 4

Thursday, October 20th, 2011 (the rest of the day)

Not going to go into much detail here.

Jersey Boys was amazing, a lot of fun and great music. I am not happy that B6 is not considered a partial view seat, but it was up close to I can’t complain too much and I didn’t miss much.

Afterwards I swung by the Billy Elliot stage door and there was a lot of excitement going on.

First, the NYPD had chosen the space along 46th right in front of the BETM exits and stage door to check trucks entering Times Square. This seemed to annoy the stage door manager. I thought it was a bad choice since if they did find a truck with bomby stuff in it, I wouldn’t want it going kaboom when a bunch of people were exiting a show.

Second, according to various people including a no doubt reliable Cameron (Michael in BETM, apparently the back-up on Thursday because he was outside 10 minutes before the show ended), that Lady Gaga was at the Edison Hotel, which is why a million people were crowding the sidewalk in front of the Edison’s back exit. Cameron, and, when they appeared, many of the other BETM kids, were going berserk with this news.

Fellow BETM fan Yolanda and I were waiting for Thommie so we had a chance to watch the ups and downs of this spectacle, which we never did get a final word on as it was late and time to head home.

So it is now Friday morning, just back from Juniors, and I am off to fill my day until Billy tonight.

See ya then!
